IVAN DOMAZET // Director

Ivan Domazet is the Managing Director of the Doma Group. With over 38 years of construction experience in the ACT, much of it in multi-unit residential construction, Ivan has the most experience in building of any member of our team. Ivan has a construction advisory role in the Group and the preservation of his existing relationships with members of the industry is pivotal to the competitiveness of the Group.

Ivan holds a Class A Building Licence, granted on the basis of experience alone in construction. Ivan has managed the construction of medium density residential developments of up to 240 dwellings. Importantly, he has completed six developments with over 10,000 square metres of gross floor area in them in a single stage.

During his time, Ivan has enjoyed a good reputation in his industry and has been able to forge strong personal relationships with consultants, professionals, industry bodies, local government authorities, local planners and other parties that are relevant to multi-unit residential development and construction. These relationships assist greatly in ensuring that the development and construction of all projects are undertaken with any problems being quickly resolved.

In all projects, Ivan is focused on ensuring that efficient organisation and staging of work occurs resulting in fast-tracking of delivery of projects. Outstanding results include the completion of the 110-apartment Bentley Suites (Forrest) in 12 months and the completion of the 55-dwelling Devonport (Braddon) after 10 months.

A key factor in achieving these results is that Ivan’s work practices have entrenched the Doma Group as an excellent and reliable employer and head-contractor. Our sub-contractors and consultants recognise that working with the Group means that the reward for their efforts is guaranteed. It must be noted that the two projects referred to above were carried out during the current construction boom, when demand for sub-contractors was at a premium and other builders had difficulty in securing trades.

The “clean” history of the Group has also produced a good working relationship with trade unions and government authorities. These groups realise that the Doma Group has a long history in the ACT and has plans to operate in the ACT for many years to come.
